Dieses nordamerikanische Pfeilkraut hat sehr variable, schmale bis breite, keilf\u00f6rmige Bl\u00e4tter mit von der Basis ausgehenden Adern. Die wei\u00dfen Bl\u00fcten sind entweder m\u00e4nnlich (mit gelben Staubgef\u00e4\u00dfen) oder weiblich, wachsen aber an derselben Pflanze. Sie kann sich \u00fcber d\u00fcnne Wurzeln zu gro\u00dfen B\u00fcscheln ausbreiten. Aus diesen Wurzeln wachsen essbare Knollen (wei\u00df mit einer violetten Schale), die wie Kartoffeln und Esskastanien schmecken und auch so zubereitet und gegessen werden. Auch die Fr\u00fcchte dieser Zierpflanze werden gegessen. Pflanzen Sie etwa 10 Exemplare pro m2 in gute Teicherde und an einen sonnigen Platz in ruhigem, flachem Wasser.
