Diese Art von Rohrkolben ist von S\u00fcdosteuropa bis Ostasien heimisch. Eine sehr elegante Pflanze mit langen, gr\u00fcnen, 2-7 mm breiten, linienf\u00f6rmigen Bl\u00e4ttern und weiblichen Bl\u00fcten\u00e4hren im Sommer, die sich w\u00e4hrend der Bl\u00fctezeit von 4 mm auf 25 mm Durchmesser verdicken. Die m\u00e4nnliche \u00c4hre dar\u00fcber bleibt unver\u00e4ndert d\u00fcnn. Diese Pflanze wuchert viel weniger als andere Arten und kann auch in kleinere Teiche gepflanzt werden (allerdings in einem eigenen Beh\u00e4lter). Die Bl\u00fcten, Bl\u00e4tter, Wurzeln, Samen und St\u00e4ngel werden in Asien gegessen und als Heilmittel verwendet. Die Bl\u00fctenstiele schmecken nach Zuckermais. F\u00fcr einen Standort in Sonne bis Halbschatten und schwerem, normal n\u00e4hrstoffreichem, feuchtem Teichboden bis zu 15 cm Wassertiefe.
