Unlike its land based relatives the garden forget-me-nots, this is a perennial and over time it will gradually expand, without being invasive. It has a various forms depending on whether it grows above or below the water line. This often a used in plantings in natural ponds, or at the waterside to hide the edge of the liner and soften the outline, and is also happy to be planted in a basket or direct in the soil in shallow water. This variety differs from its parent by having attractive white flowers rather than the common blue.
