This beautiful plant from the moderate climes on the northern hemisphere extends by runners through the soil and merely produces un-stalked, elongated, pointed leaves with a heart-shaped base, sitting on less-branched stems. The slightly fragrant, pink labiate flowers appear in quasi-whorls at the tops of the flowering stems. A marsh-plant for moist, periodically wet, humous soil. The roots have tuberous, thickened ends. For sun to light shade. Good winter-hardy.
