The Siberian Iris, is native to northern Asia as well as eastern and central Europe, is an herbaceous perennial with leaves that are an attractive glaucous green, these are narrow and fairly rigid with a distinct blade-shape. The flowers are typical of an iris, produced in late spring and early summer on stiff stems held above the leaves, the flowers are purple mauve.
