The Golden Blue-eyed Grass from the coastal areas of California (USA) stays short and produces Iris-like, grassy leaves, between and over which small yellow flowers appear during summer. It is a plant from the moist woods on mountain slopes, a sun-lover which prefers to grow in slightly moist keeping, moderately fertile, but well-drained soil. This perennial is reasonably winter-hardy (up to –15 °C), evergreen en very suited for a moist spot in a rock-garden or near a pond-edge.
